A LOVE LETTER TO MY DAUGHTER & A REFLECTION ON THE MOMENTS AND RELATIONSHIPS THAT SHAPE US ALL

Becoming a mom for the first time is a moment that changes you forever. For me, that moment came eighteen years ago when my daughter Ava arrived in this world. Today, as she stands on the cusp of adulthood, I find myself reflecting on the journey we've shared and the lessons she has taught me along the way.

I want to share this love letter to Ava with you. Not only in celebration of her today,...

Rewiring HOPE: Make Gratitude Your Act of Resistance

What if your gratitude practice could be more than just a feel-good moment? What if it could be a radical act of resilience?

This month, imagine your gratitude practice as a quiet rebellion against all the negativity. In a culture that constantly signals scarcity and fear, gratitude becomes our most subtle yet powerful form of resistance. A resistance to a world and media designed to keep us a...

HOW TO JOURNAL (Insights from my own journaling practice)

Journaling is not my jam.  I want to journal, but I never know what to write about?  Great question and one I hear often. If journaling is not your jam because you find yourself stuck on a blank page, I have an invitation for you. The good news--you don’t need to know what you’re going to write about before you get to the page.

What is the goal of journaling? For me, it’s to discover truths. D...

TINY GIFTS OF TRANSITION

Hello and welcome back.  It's a quiet Sunday morning, I am sitting in my favorite writing chair with my favorite coffee mug, in my home.  I’m feeling deeply grateful.  Ava and I have transitioned back home after living in Portland for a few months.  No more Sunday scaries in anticipation of leaving again, no more suitcases, no more long drives and nightly facetime calls, we are home.

Your Morning Routine is Not a To-Do List.

Hello and welcome back! Let’s talk morning routines. I’ve been thinking a lot about this topic the past couple of weeks.  Our morning routine is a habit and like all habits, we aren’t always conscious of their impact.

Reaching for our phone first thing in the morning, wandering into email, social media, all the other places that create distraction and overwhelm ultimately doesn’t serve.  Som...

ENERGY + EXPECTATIONS

Hello and welcome back. It’s February!  The theme of the month around here is energy.  More specifically, the physical, mental, and emotional energy we keep. I believe our energy is the most valuable resource in our toolbox.  The good news (and bad news when mismanaged) is our energy is not set, it varies from day to day, maybe even hour to hour.  Thankfully it’s a renewable resource.  We can gene...

SEPTEMBER: NOTE TO SELF

Trust what you know, now.  You and your experience are your greatest resource.  You know more today than you did a year ago, use this knowledge wisely.  What can you do to keep you and your loved ones healthy, safe, and grounded in this season? What do you need to feel supported and connected?  What's working now or worked before?  What didn’t work so well?  What can you do differently?

WHAT DOES WINNING MEAN TO YOU?

It’s the last week of July, how will you end the month?  As I reflect on this past month, I find myself refining what’s most important, right now.  My favorite question from this past week in helping create even more clarity:

If you were to describe winning in one word, what would it be?

If you were to zoom out for a moment, free of comparison to someone else’s life (or a previous version of y...

A THANKSGIVING LETTER FROM TANYA

“Wishing you a day of remaining in the moment.  Not the past or future or story.  Not your thoughts or anxieties or lists.  But right here.  Right now.  Straight into the center.”  -Victoria Erickson.

There have been a few small changes since March and much remains the same.  Dare I say we have found a groove resembling what feels “normal”?  We reach for masks and our car keys when we leave the h...

A RETURN TO JOY

Traditionally, Spring Break vacation involves miles and miles of the open road in our RV, s'mores around a campfire, followed by the grand finale, a white water rafting adventure on the local river.  This year, we opt for turkey and gravy instead.

Although it is the middle of March, we sit down to share a Thanksgiving dinner together.  That’s right, turkey, gravy, sweet potatoes (pretending to b...
