SERVING SELFHOOD.

Hello!  I hope this email finds you soaking up the final days of summer sunshine.  As I think about the pending season ahead it feels relevant to share a word I’m loving these days–Selfhood:  individuality; the quality or state of being selfish.  After digging further into the definition of individuality, I love it even more--Individuality:  separate or distinct existence.  The word selfish gets a bad rap.  In many ways, this idea of checking in on the state of our “selfhood” feels like a selfless idea.  Identifying what you need as a unique individual and then keeping those promises you make to yourself is putting your own oxygen mask on first.  It's being fully aligned with yourself.  When we honor our selfhood or identity it allows more capacity to show up for others.  Makes space to be more centered, patient, and open for connection.

Selfhood feels like a priority, something worthy of revisiting from time to time.  As we anticipate the new season of September, let’s check-in.  Are you serving your selfhood?  What do you need right now?  More quiet and stillness?  More engagement and connection?  A day (or two or three) off from your roles and responsibilities?  A new goal or challenge to be excited about?

What does a strong and healthy selfhood look like for you?
Where are you being called to pay more attention?
What’s one thing you can do today to serve your selfhood?

“This is not your practice life, this is all there is."  Wise words I read earlier today.  A new season is a new opportunity to recalibrate and reset.  However you are being called to better serve your selfhood, accept the invitation!

As always, stay open, brave, and on-purpose.
