FALLING BACK IN: 5 AREAS I'M PRIORITIZING RIGHT NOW
Hello and welcome back! Whew, Summer flew by didn’t it? As we say goodbye to Summer, I invite you to take the memory of magical moments shared with the people you love with you. As I reflect on both the peaks and pits of Summer, I am reminded of the temporary state of all things. Feeling grateful for the reminder as we transition to Fall.
Intentional living is about making conscious choices about your time and attention that align with your personal values and aspirations. In the return to Fall activities, I encourage you to use this transition time as an opportunity to reassess your priorities to cultivate an even more purposeful and fulfilling way of life.
Today, I’m sharing 5 areas (in no particular order) I’m prioritizing right now:
Re-examine Daily Routine & Activities: How am I spending the first hour of my morning and the last hour of my day? What’s working? What is no longer serving me? What transitions throughout the day could use more attention and intention? How could they improve with better preparation and/or presence?
Refresh Your JOY List: What’s lighting me up right now, making me feel more tethered and connected? What brings more joy? These are everyday simple ways to add energy, presence, and pause. As the season changes my joy list adjusts too. A few things on my joy list right now: candles, reading, sitting by the fire, my morning walk, journaling, and the back to school reset of purging and reorganizing.
Refresh Your "STOP Doing" List: What is draining my energy right now? What’s getting in the way of feeling more open and expansive? These can be thoughts or behaviors that are weighing you down and not serving you. A couple on my list right now are: over indulging Netflix and Hulu shows in the evening and worrying about things I can’t control.
Identify Your Top 3 Priorities (both personally & professionally) for the next 60 days: (I’m still working on this one!)
Nurture Your Nervous System: How can I best support and nurture my nervous system right now? As I continue to learn and grow from a challenging season, I’ve been taking a deep dive into learning more about the nervous system and healthful regulating resources. If you or someone you love has been through a difficult or even traumatic experience, it’s likely your nervous system needs some extra love and attention even if you’re “on the other side” of it. Some of the healthful regulating resources I’m implementing with more intention right now are getting outside into nature (more often), journaling, practicing breathwork, and exploring solfeggio frequency music (pairing
this playlist with my meditation practice).
Take a moment and create space to reflect. What are your priorities for this upcoming Fall season? What stays and what goes? Where do you need to focus your time and attention most right now? As always, stay open, brave, and on-purpose.
